Acid Wipers and the Second Heart
Dear Denise,
As you are driving home, you are probably going over one of the best nights in our collective lives. Thanks to 4 months apart, Marlboro Mediums, and white zinfindel, we were able to come up with some pretty amazing stories tonight. Just a recap before I sober up:
Meeting at Starbucks, as always, and running into a certain Anthony. Being wished happy birthdays by the guy at the gas...

Why is it that the one night I want to sleep...
day24:
I can’t fall asleep? Instead I have a steady stream of X, The Germs, The Cramps, The Coathangers, Buzzcocks, Sebadoh, The Dead Milkmen, Super Furry Animals, etc. playing. And none of those bands are gonna help with my insomnia.
I should switch over to some acoustic, male, singer-songwriter. Not like there’s not a billion of those.

– Anthony Bourdain
I’m sure a majority of you know about his travel show No Reservations but few know that before No Reservations, Bourdain’s book Kitchen Confidential was turned into a sitcom starring the smoldering Bradley Cooper. Get in on it, Kitchen Confidential.

The last drop of Christmas from the Christmas...
Got home from the Christmas Sweater Festival at the El Rey and immediately met the disapproving glare of my dad (it was 2:00; I had promised 12:00), but it was worth it - it was great to catch up with Pat, and to see Chris again. Some of the opening bands were wack, and the emcee of the night might have been a little too enamored of his own voice, but it was a festive crowd in a nice venue, and...
